Cormac Monaghan - President

Cormac is a native of Balbriggan Co. Dublin and first came to Canada in 1994 after qualifying as a Chartered Accountant with Coopers & Lybrand. He is currently Vice President Finance with eOne Films Canada. Educated at Gormanston College and UCD (B.Comm), he is also a graduate of the Kellogg Schulich Executive MBA program. In addition to his involvement with the Chamber he has also served as President of the Toronto GAA and as a Director of O'Connor House. He is also the Chamber's representative on the Irish Person of the Year committee. To balance out all that Irishness he found himself a Canadian wife! Karen hails from the Ottawa valley - the Monaghan clan now includes young Lauren and they live in North York.


Matthew Cotter


Matthew is from Blackrock, Co Dublin and is a relatively recent arrival having only moved to Toronto in September 2009. After graduating from Blackrock College, Matthew studied Business & Legal Studies at University College Dublin. Unsure which career path to pursue, he took some time out to travel around Australia. On his return, he completed a Masters of Accounting at the UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School before joining PricewaterhouseCoopers where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant. After mastering the art of auditing, Matthew moved to Goodbody Stockbrokers as an Equity Research Analyst just in time to get front row view of the market crash in 2008. Recognizing the increasing challenges facing the Irish economy, Matthew decided to look beyond the pale for new professional opportunities and after minimal deliberation Toronto was selected as the destination of choice. Matthew is currently the Financial Operations Manager at eOne Films Canada and in addition to his role with the Chamber also recently joined the Board of the Toronto Irish Film Festival.


Damian Dupuy

Dr. Damian Dupuy was born and raised in Dublin and moved to in 1989. He is currently Manager of Knowledge Transfer Initiatives at the University Toronto, where he also teaches urban and economic geography. Prior to that he was a Senior Policy Advisor on innovation policy to the Ontario Ministry of Research and Innovation. An economic geographer by training, he specializes in regional economic development, regional and national systems of innovation, and innovation policy. Both his academic and applied work has included the creation of economic development strategies at the local and regional levels in Canada, the United Kingdom, and elsewhere. Dr. Dupuy is an Associate of Canada's Innovation Systems Research Network, and has acted as an Advisor to the Local Economic and Employment Development Programme (LEED) of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). He is married to Maria (an accomplished artist) and they have a daughter, Samantha. In his spare time, he is an avid runner having completed numerous marathons and other races in Canada and abroad.


Kyle McNamara

Kyle McNamara is the Senior Vice President of Securities Operations for Scotiabank. He is responsible for securities processing and support services to Scotia Capital and all of Scotiabank's Wealth Management business lines. He is based in Toronto and also has team's in London and New York to help support Scotiabank's global growth. In this role, Kyle is optimizing processes, leveraging technology and ensuring effective controls and procedures are in place to deal with all securities-related operational activities.
Kyle has over 20 years of experience at a number of different financial institutions and has been with Scotiabank for 11 years. He has had senior positions in Credit Risk, Business Analysis, Predictive Modeling, Data Warehousing, Customer Strategy and most recently as Managing Director of Small Business.
In his Small Business leadership role, Kyle led Scotiabank's significant investment in the Small Business market. He has travelled across Canada working with local bankers to design strategies to serve the needs of Small Business owners. These include a number of market-leading solutions.
Kyle graduated from the University of Western Ontario with Honours Degrees in Actuarial Science and Economics. Kyle and his wife Terry, have two children.

Ross O’Colmain

Hailing from Dalkey, Co. Dublin, Ross took up the post as Enterprise Ireland Country Manager for Canada in May 2011. Enterprise Ireland is the Irish government agency responsible for assisting in the development of Irish companies in world markets. Ross previously worked for Enterprise Ireland as part of their Middle East and North Africa team. Having graduated from Trinity College and Dublin City University he started his career with IDA Ireland where he worked with MNC’s in both Ireland and New York. When he doesn’t have a dodgy knee Ross likes hiking, skiing, camping and golf.


John O'Dwyer - Treasurer

John's professional career, over the past thirty years, has spanned financial management, human resource management, and operational and strategic management. He has held a variety of management positions including President and CEO, and Business Owner.
John came to Canada in 1987 as President and CEO of an international aviation services company. He subsequently returned to academia to do his Ph.D. In 1995, he joined an international strategic planning and change management consulting firm with offices in the U.S., Canada and Europe. In his role as Partner/V. P. Finance, he was a trusted advisor to a wide range of clients from Fortune 500 corporations to smaller entrepreneurial and high tech organizations. In 2000, John co-founded Strategic Advisory International, which focuses on providing client organizations with the management process tools to enable them to transform winning strategies into genuine results. John also lectures at the Rotman School of Management (University of Toronto) in their MBA and Executive Education programs.
Over the years, John has been a volunteer with a number of organizations and is currently Treasurer for the European Chambers of Commerce in Toronto, and a member of the Fundraising Committee for the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum in Hamilton. John's degrees/professional qualifications include: Ph.D, Ivey School of Business, UWO; MBA, Trinity College, Dublin, Ireland; FCA, Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland; CMC, Canadian Association of Management Consultants; and ICD.D, Corporate Governance College ICD.

Michael Power 

Michael was born in Leeds, Yorkshire, of Irish parents (Waterford and Longford) who immediately moved back to Dublin and, when he was 12, moved to Toronto in the mid 1950's. He took Electrical Engineering at the University of Toronto and has worked in the mining business since graduating in 1967. Currently, he consults for the mining industry and is a Director of the following mining companies: Moydow Resources Limited, Conroy Gold and Natural Resources plc , Deveron Resources Ltd., San Gold Corporation , SGX Resources Inc., Great Lakes Nickel Limited,  Minco Plc , and Red Tiger Mining Inc.  Michael has served on the Chamber board for several years.


Carolyn Richardson

Carolyn Richardson is the owner of CREM-Carolyn Richardson Events. Carolyn has been apart of the Irish community for many years. She is the daughter of John and Gail Dunne who are pillars of the Irish Community. John Dunne is one of the founders of the Ireland Fund of Canada as well as a supporter of all of the irish organizations for many years. Carolyn ran the events and sponsorship for the Ireland Fund of Canada for four years before opening her own company and has participated as a judge for the Toronto Rose of Tralee. She is currently Senior Manager, Sponsorship for CARAS/JUNO Awards

Eamonn O'Loghlin - Executive Director

Eamonn is a native of Ennistymon / Lahinch, County Clare. He graduated from University College Cork with a Bachelor of Commerce in 1975 and came to Canada. After an 18 year marketing career with Hallmark Cards, he now runs his own Marketing & Communications Consulting business (O'Loghlin Communications Inc.), and hosts a weekly Irish radio show on CHKT 1430 AM (Saturdays 11 - 12 noon, live on net at: www.fairchildradio.com). He publishes Irish Connections Canada - www.irishcanadamag.com and has been highly involved in Toronto's Irish community for over 30 years. In addition to being Executive Director of the Ireland Canada Chamber of Commerce, he is a long time supporter of Comhaltas Ceoltoiri Eireann, the Ireland Fund of Canada and the Gaelic Athletic Association. O'Loghlin Communications Inc. has been on contract to Exhibition Place & the Canadian National Exhibition as Director of Strategic Partnerships and Corporate Sponsorship since 2001. Growing up in Lahinch, he is an avid golfer and loves traditional music and he frequently performs on piano at community events. In January 2009 he was selected by the community as Irish Person of the Year, along with three other colleagues in the radio business. His wife Madeleine recently retired after a 32 year teaching career and is a native of West Cork. They have two children, Treasa 28 who recently graduated from Osgoode Law School and Rory 17 who plays a mean saxophone with the Etobicoke Youth Band. Eamonn was appointed Executive Director of the Ireland Canada Chamber of Commerce in 1993.
